Visit Hermann Park In Houston, Texas For FREE Culture

Parks are great – they make for a fun, inexpensive day and can be found in every city or town.  So if you’re planning a short “get-away” for you and your loved ones, take a minute to research their local parks.  You might be surprised at what they have to offer. Such was the case for us when we decided to visit Hermann Park during our mini-vacation to Houston, Texas.
Hermann Park turned out to be a VERY large park made up of 100’s of acres.  There are picnic tables throughout, so do like we did and take some lunch – then have a seat and enjoy some time together as a family in the outdoors.

There are playgrounds, a splash pad and works of art where ever you look.  So not only did we get our exercise, we got to enjoy nature, the fresh air and we got a little culture courtesy of the various artists who’s works are displayed in the park.

And the best part of it – the whole excursion was free – there is no entry fee and parking is free.  Definitely a great day for all of us.
