Sometimes, when we think of fitness we think of the gym, working out with weights or running, but that isn’t the only form of fitness. There are lots of things that you can do as a family to get yourselves outside and moving that cost little to no money.
Almost every city or town has a park in it and almost every park has a fitness trail where you can walk or jog. More often than not, these fitness trails have exercise equipment along the route so that you can stop to do pull-ups, lunges, sit-ups, etc.
If you’re really lucky, your park might even have a duck pond and a playground so that you can turn it into a true fun, family outing that everyone will enjoy. You can start off with feeding the ducks, break into the fitness walk with intermittent exercises and end with the kids playing on the jungle gym while you relax on a nearby bench. So use your local resources and make the most of what your town has to offer. It’s a great way to get fit for free.
